OverviewUnityPoint Clinic and UnityPoint Health are actively recruiting a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join our growing general surgery service line in Waterloo, Iowa. As an inpatient Advanced Practice Provider (APP), you will join a dynamic and collaborative general surgery team in a growing specialty line. You will support dedicated general surgeons in providing exceptional, patient‑centered care and may float to the outpatient clinic when needed. The fully integrated system uses Epic EMR for improved care coordination.
Responsibilities- Full‑time opportunity.
- Primarily inpatient general surgery patients.
- OR surgical first assist, inpatient rounding, post‑operative management, and discharge planning.
- Conduct independent assessments and manage pre‑/post‑operative care.
- Inpatient census of 8‑15 patients.
- Interpret imaging and lab results; develop and coordinate follow‑up treatment plans.
- Outpatient clinic as needed.
- Evening and weekend call coverage as needed.
- Collaborate with surgeons and multidisciplinary staff to ensure quality patient outcomes.
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Board Certified.
- 1–2 years of experience preferred in an inpatient or surgical specialty.
- Licensed (or eligible) in the state of Iowa.
- DEA and prescribing authority in Iowa.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
