HVAC Estimating Specialist. Waterloo Move Collective

We are looking for a motivated HVAC Estimating Specialist with a strong background in mechanical construction estimating. Join a reputable contractor with over 20 years of experience in delivering top-notch HVAC, refrigeration, and mechanical services across various sectors including commercial, healthcare, industrial, hospitality, and institutional clients.

• Conduct quantity takeoffs and prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial HVAC and mechanical projects.
• Analyze plans and specifications for ductwork, piping, equipment, and controls.
• Create comprehensive bid packages for new construction and renovation contracts ranging from $100K to $4M+.
• Solicit and assess pricing from subcontractors and vendors.
• Spot value‑engineering opportunities while maintaining profit margins.
• Collaborate with management to refine pricing strategies and analyze historical data.

• 3-5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC estimating.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical specifications.
• Familiarity with HVAC equipment, chillers, rooftop units, pumps, and piping systems.
• Excellent analytical skills, organized documentation, and proficiency in estimating software.
• A coachable, detail-oriented, and team-focused approach.
