Customer Support Engineer

Job Summary of the Customer Support Engineer:
The Customer Support Engineer is instrumental in providing technical guidance and support tailored to clients’ needs. Responsibilities include liaising between consumers, partners, and internal teams to generate precise estimates, address service and warranty concerns, and devise service orders’ components and solutions. The ideal candidate melds mechanical design expertise with robust communication, organization, and issue-solving proficiencies to guarantee a seamless customer journey from estimate to post-sales assistance.

Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Customer Support Engineer:

  • Serve as a technical specialist for clients and partners, delivering prompt responses and solutions for inquiries.
  • Support warranty procedures by aiding in technical assessments, collecting field data, coordinating with internal departments, and ensuring timely communication and follow-up with clients.
  • Address mechanical and hydraulic challenges using engineering principles and field input.
  • Create and maintain precise records of client interactions, service concerns, and resolutions in the CRM system.
  • Generate accurate product and service estimates, encompassing pricing, options, and technical specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance to the sales team to ensure product criteria align with client needs.
  • Collaborate with design and production units to validate feasibility, costs, and completion times.
  • Input product and service orders into the ERP system with precision and meticulousness, upholding data integrity and timely processing.
  • Conceive and model customized or replacement parts for service sales orders using CAD software.
  • Develop and issue service blueprints, component specifics, and alteration packages for production or field application.
  • Engage with design engineering to relay recurring service trends, field complications, and enhancement prospects.
  • Contribute to root cause analyses and corrective action campaigns to amplify product efficiency and dependability.
  • Support enhancement endeavors within warranty, estimating, and service processes.
  • Contribute to technical bulletins, product guides, and customer tutoring materials. Attend cross-functional meetings to ensure synergy among engineering, sales, and production divisions.
  • Aid in customer events, trade expos, or field exhibitions as required.

Education & Experience Requirements of Customer Support Engineer:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field (required).
  • 3+ years of experience in a customer-facing engineering, field service, or technical support role—preferably in heavy equipment, industrial manufacturing sectors, or trailer manufacturing.
  • Thorough understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and materials.
  • Familiarity with CAD/design software and basic drafting/modification tasks.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
