Title:
Aftertreatment Performance Analysis Engineer
As an Aftertreatment Performance Analysis Engineer for JD Power Systems located in Waterloo, IA, you will:
- Develop and validate 1D chemical kinetic models for relevant aftertreatment components such as Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC), Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), Ammonia Oxidation Catalyst (AOC), DOC catalyzed DPF (DOCF), Ethanol Three-Way-Catalyst (TWC) etc.
- Plan, coordinate and perform analysis projects using 1D aftertreatment models and other supporting models to investigate current and future emissions reduction techniques
- Provide well thought out documentation on analysis processes with results, and ensure delivery of high-quality models to support deployment
- Stay current on latest technologies related to aftertreatment devices and emission reduction strategies for diesel and alternative fuel engines

What Skills You Need- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- 1 or more years of experience working with diesel engine aftertreatment or other components
- 1 or more years of experience in engineering simulation and analysis
- Fundamental understanding of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, chemical reaction mechanisms and computer programming
- Experience in 1D aftertreatment component and system performance modeling
- Experience in 1D aftertreatment component model kinetics calibration and process development
- User experience with GT-Suite, Matlab, Simulink and Git Hub
- Master of Science degree in Engineering (or higher)
- Experience in engine performance development, testing and simulation
- Industrial experience in heavy duty diesel engines, emissions, and aftertreatment
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in chemical, Mechanical engineering or related engineering disciplines or equivalent work experience
