.About the Role Are you looking for a rewarding position with great daytime hours? As a Day Habilitation DSP, you will guide and support individuals with disabilities in developing life skills, exploring hobbies, and engaging with their local community.
Instead of traditional residential care, your focus will be on leading structured group and individual activities that promote independence, choice, and social connections.
📋 Key Responsibilities Your day will be split between our program facility and exciting community outings.
Community Integration & Outings Social Connections:
Support individuals during community events, volunteer opportunities, recreational trips, and educational activities.
Transportation:
Safely drive agency vehicles to transport participants to and from community activities and appointments.
Inclusion:
Promote opportunities for individuals to build meaningful friendships and active community connections. Skill Building & Person-Centered Support Goal Achievement:
Follow individualized service plans to help participants build independent living, social, and communication skills.
Active Engagement:
Lead and participate in daily activities like arts and crafts, fitness, life-skills cooking, and group discussions.
Daily Assistance:
Provide respectful assistance with personal hygiene, grooming, mobility, and lunchtime meal preparation as needed.
Health, Safety & Documentation Supervision:
Maintain close supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
Medication:
Assist with medication administration within your trained scope and regulations.
Reporting:
Complete accurate, daily electronic documentation regarding goals met, behaviors, and health tracking.
Job Requirements Age:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
License:
Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record (required for community transportation).Core
Skills:
Reliable, punctuality, empathy, problem solving and the ability to maintain professional boundaries. Physical Demands & Environment Physical Activity:
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and actively participating in recreational movements.
Mobility Support:
Ability to safely lift, transfer, or assist individuals with physical mobility needs.
Setting:
