Job Summary

Join us where you can make an impact in a meaningful way. This position is on the 1st shift with a rotational work schedule of 3–12 hours on day 1 of the week and 4–12 hours on day 2 of the week, generally 12 hours a day starting at 6:00 a.m. The starting base rate of pay is $26.05 per hour, with potential for higher pay based on experience.

The role is eligible for overtime pay. Team members must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and some holidays as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
  • Keep machinery running to maintain continuous production, including repairing and maintaining operating conditions and troubleshooting problems in day‑to‑day operation.
  • Perform work involving hydraulics, pneumatic, electrical, and general mechanics, as well as some welding.
  • Set up, adjust, and break down production line machinery and complete daily documentation as required.
  • All team members are responsible for safety, including personal safety and food safety.
  • Comply with all company and USDA policies/guidelines and report known or suspected violations.
  • Attend monthly and annual required training (e.g., Safety, HACCP, HR topics, LOTO, PIT).
  • Use basic computer skills to navigate systems, perform data entry, and complete training.
  • Read manuals to repair equipment safely and follow all safety protocols.
  • Record information using company‑provided forms and procedures.
  • Work scheduled hours to meet job expectations, with flexibility to work other jobs, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Work professionally and respectfully with others, demonstrating positive interpersonal skills and communicating effectively with all team members and management.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection, hair net/beard guard, steel‑toed boots, and gloves.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
  • Willing and able to lift, carry, push, and pull 70+ lbs. below waist, at waist level, and above shoulder level.
  • Climb up and down stairs to and from work areas; work at elevated levels, various heights, and in confined spaces as applicable.
  • Stand, walk, and perform job up to 10–12 hours per day, with appropriate breaks.
  • Bend, stoop, twist, stretch, climb, push, pull, and reach above, below, and across at shoulder level.
  • Work in environments with extreme temperatures ranging seasonally from hot/warm to cold, damp or wet conditions, and concrete floors that may be slippery in some areas.
  • Flex/grip with wrists/hands and use maintenance tools.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection, hair net/beard guard, steel‑toed boots, and gloves.
Job Requirements
  • At least one year of mechanic work experience with one or a combination of employers, or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program.
  • At least six months of continuous employment with one employer in the past two years.
Additional Information

Applicants will be considered for General Maintenance level openings. Pay level is determined during the interview process based on skillset, knowledge, and experience. Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 180 days and are limited to three times of employment. Relocation assistance is not available. Work shift is a 1‑shift (United States of America).
