Position Description

Ryder is hiring a Material Handler in Waterloo, Iowa — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a career you can feel good about.

• Hourly Pay: $20.50 per hour
• Additional Hourly Rates: $1.00 per hour when working 3rd Shift
• Schedule:
  
  Sunday – Thursday from 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

  Sit‑Down Forklift, Reach Truck, Cherry Picker, RF Scanner

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• One (1) year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred
• Valid Forklift Operator’s License certified
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Team player capable of working within a diverse environment
• Professional relationships across all organizational levels (peers, supervisors, etc.)
• Highly thorough and dependable
• Must be punctual with a good attendance record
• Minimal supervision needed for independent work
• High initiative and initiative demonstrated under pressure
• Accurate to a high level even in stressful situations
• Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Familiar with health and safety methods
• Flexible scheduling across various shifts
• Detail oriented with excellent follow‑up practices

• Perform warehouse functions including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting
• Work within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
• Ensure accurate picking, packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products, and loading/unloading of trucks
• Handle day‑to‑day paperwork such as picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.
• Provide technical and maintenance support for the automated packing system during core shift hours of production
• Perform other duties as assigned
