Hire Now Staffing is partnering with an established manufacturing organization in Waterloo, Iowa to hire a highly capable Production Supervisor for its 2nd shift operations. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who enjoys being on the floor, working directly alongside production teams, and driving real-time execution across safety, quality, and output. Approximately 50% of this position involves direct labor, making it best suited for supervisors who lead by example and thrive in fast-paced environments.

As the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for day-to-day shift execution while supporting operational priorities set by the Production Manager and Director of Operations. The right candidate will bring strong people leadership, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to keep production moving efficiently while maintaining high standards.
Key Responsibilities- Execute daily production schedules by assigning labor, monitoring workflow, and ensuring output targets are met
- Lead and coach manufacturing employees through consistent expectations, feedback, and on-the-job training
- Supervise shift performance across productivity, attendance, safety, and quality standards
- Spend significant time on the production floor performing hands-on work alongside team members (approximately 50%)
- Monitor staffing levels, equipment performance, and process flow to maintain operational efficiency
- Identify and escalate safety, environmental, or health risks, ensuring compliance with plant standards
- Serve as the quality owner for assigned production areas, reinforcing inspection requirements and corrective action
- Ensure materials, supplies, and resources are available to prevent delays or downtime
- Complete shift reporting, documenting key production metrics and performance trends
- Maintain a clean, organized, and high-accountability work environment
- Support hiring, onboarding, cross-training, and development of new production team members
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial production environment
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory or lead-level experience overseeing hourly teams
- Ability to lead through presence, accountability, and hands-on execution
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills under production pressure
- Commitment to safety, quality, and team standards
- Solid communication and interpersonal leadership ability
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and production reporting tools
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to work an onsite 2nd shift schedule consistently
- Prior experience supervising off-shift manufacturing teams in high-output environments
- A proven track record improving team performance, quality metrics, or throughput
- Comfort balancing people leadership with direct labor contribution
- Experience working closely with operations leadership in lean or continuous improvement settings
- Immediate ownership of shift execution and team leadership
