Marketing & Communications Internship
Join us! We have a part-time Marketing & Communications Internship opportunity for a creative individual looking to gain hands-on experience in social media management, graphic design, event promotion, and nonprofit marketing.
This is what you'll get to do:
- Design social media graphics, promotional materials, and digital content using Canva.
- Assist with planning, creating, scheduling, and publishing social media content across EPI platforms.
- Develop content ideas, captions, graphics, reels, and stories that help tell EPI's mission-driven story.
- Support photography and short-form video projects for social media and marketing campaigns.
- Help maintain brand consistency across all digital and printed materials.
- Assist with marketing and promotion of EPI's annual Giving Tree holiday campaign.
- Create and manage Giving Tree wish lists and promotional materials.
- Assist with organizing, sorting, and coordinating donated gifts as they are received throughout the holiday season.
- Provide support for staff engagement activities, fundraising campaigns, and special events.
- Assist the Communications & Development team with additional marketing and communications projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or a related field at an accredited college or university.
- Familiarity with Canva and social media platforms strongly preferred.
- Interest in graphic design, digital marketing, content creation, and nonprofit communications.
- Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple projects.
- Creative thinker with a willingness to learn and contribute ideas.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- This position requires a valid driver's license and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and an extensive background check, including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, the Sex Offender Registry, and a criminal history check.
Details:
- Part-time, approximately 6-10 hours per week - (Regular schedule will fluctuate between the hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday-Friday)
- Working onsite at our Ansborough office in Waterloo, IA.
- Internship will run approximately October 2026 through January 2027 (about 16 weeks).
- This is a paid internship opportunity, with an hourly rate of $12.50/hour.
