Licensed Practical Nurse

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis.
• Evaluate donor reactions that occur at the facility, following SOPs for medical emergencies and coordinating the development of center physician standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to the center physician or medical affairs when needing to provide unacceptable findings to donors or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
• Support the Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, referring to EHS guidance for employee incidents.
• Act as a pandemic coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community.

• High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Location:

Hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44. The offered wage will depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location, in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements.
