Our Operating Room is a busy 9‑suite department that performs a variety of surgical cases in the following specialty areas:
Cardiothoracic, Vascular, Robotics, Orthopedics, General Surgery, Gynecology, Neurosurgery, Urology, Podiatry, and Plastics. We offer opportunities for continuous learning and professional growth related to the perioperative arena.

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care at the RN skill level, in collaboration with the Medical Plan of Care, with a minimum of assistance.
• Function as primary care leader, associate, or charge nurse so that optimum quality of patient care is maintained.
• Exercise accountability, responsibility, authority, autonomy, and act as a role model and resource person with expanded theory and expertise.
• Perform pre- and/or post-operative critical care for surgical patients.
• Maintain department competencies related to proper care of patients.
• Manage equipment and respond to emergencies, signaling concerns to physicians in a timely manner.
• Operate equipment and perform technical skills according to policies and standards; learn new skills and seek assistance appropriately.
• Administer sedation and recognize and assess the need for reversal and airway management.
• Flex schedule and adapt to changes in workflow.
• Respond to call as soon as needed, but no later than 30 minutes.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing
• Current license in the state of Iowa or meets criteria established by Iowa Board of Nursing.
• Writes, reads, comprehends, and speaks fluent English.
• Multicultural sensitivity.
• Microsoft Office – basic computer skills.
• Customer/patient focused.
• Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.
• Use of standard equipment to perform essential functions of the position.
