Position: Registered Nurse (Night Shift)

Position Summary

Medcor is looking to hire a part‑time Registered Nurse to serve as an Onsite Health Nurse at our employer‑based clinic in Waterloo, IA. The clinic provides basic primary and urgent care and treats workplace injuries. Hours are Friday and Saturday, 10:30 pm–11:00 am.

Sign‑on bonus: $1,500.

Responsibilities

The position’s responsibilities include collaborative work with Medcor’s medical and operational leadership, local medical providers, client staff, and key contacts within the client’s corporate structure. The day‑to‑day role involves patient care, ongoing workers’ compensation case management, Return to Work (RTW) program facilitation, treatment plan monitoring, and coordination with outside medical providers.

A Typical Day
  • Participate in daily operations at Medcor’s on‑site clinic
  • Provide superior customer service to Medcor’s client and employees
  • Assess and treat workplace injuries and illnesses according to Medcor’s Evidence Based Medicine protocols (MCPs)
  • Build and maintain internal team relationships
  • Support onsite employee health and wellness efforts
  • Pre‑employment and post‑offer screenings
  • Document care using state‑of‑the‑art EMR and other tools
  • Conduct Physical Assessment Testing (PATs)
  • Case management
  • Medical charting
  • OSHA record‑keeping
Qualifications
  • Valid license in the state of Iowa for the position applied for
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Strong computer and technology skills, including EMR familiarity
  • Physical ability to lift a 50‑lb emergency response bag
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive and outgoing personality
  • Willingness to go above and beyond
  • Passion for people and high‑quality care
  • Ability to have fun
Preferred Experience
  • Comfortable working in a worksite clinic environment
  • Relevant occupational health experience
  • Experience in emergency medicine or critical care
