Job
Position OverviewLyman‑Richey Sand & Gravel Company, a CRH Company, has been supplying aggregate materials for construction and development projects for more than 130 years. The Loader Operator is responsible for general housekeeping, filling and maintaining aggregate bins or piles, stacking product, loading and unloading product following established policies and procedures, maintaining and operating conveyor, screening and crushing equipment, and operating a front‑end loader to load aggregate materials.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)- Operate a straight or articulated rubber‑tire tractor‑type vehicle equipped with front‑mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage/aggregate piles or bins to feed conveyors, hoppers, or chutes.
- Operate a loader and other equipment under minimum supervision, completing duties independently with general direction.
- Inspect loader at the start and end of each workday, completing the pre and post inspection sheet indicating all systems are functioning properly.
- Perform routine maintenance on loader, such as adding air to tires, lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
- Load haul trucks, customer trucks, feed portable plant, stockpile materials, and load bins.
- Complete Equipment Inspection Report/Checklist as necessary and report any needed repairs to supervisor.
- Create and maintain inclines and ramps to excavated materials.
- Assist with general plant housekeeping and upkeep, helping facilitate the cleanliness of the mining site and plant daily.
- Follow all company policies and procedures for safe working and environment; report problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- One to two years related experience.
- Experience running other heavy equipment preferred.
- Must be 18 years in age or older.
- Must pass pre‑employment drug screen and criminal background check.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and meet the company MVR requirements.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee and Safety Policy Manuals/Handbooks.
- Regular, on‑time and consistent attendance is required and must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
- Must be willing to travel to other locations occasionally within the workday.
- Knowledge of operating heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction.
- Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operations and construction sites.
- Knowledge of trenching and shoring standards.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to cope well in stressful environments and communicate professionally.
- Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently under a variety of working conditions.
- Ability to read and comprehend policies, instructions, site maps, and other GPS based equipment information.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate, understand and follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to take guidance and direction from a supervisor.
- Able to communicate with others by email, telephone and in person; utilize computer, phone or tablet for typing, messaging, data management, timekeeping, and voice or text communication.
- Able to frequently stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and talk or hear.
- Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear.
