Industrial Maintenance Technician Job Description
The Industrial Maintenance Technician will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of industrial machinery and equipment. This role focuses on performing preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance to keep production operations running efficiently and safely. The technician will work with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, using a variety of tools and maintenance software to document work and resolve complex equipment issues.
Responsibilities- Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems on a wide range of industrial machinery and equipment.
- Plan and perform all mechanical operations necessary to modify, dismantle, repair, overhaul, and rebuild machinery and equipment.
- Perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance throughout the facility to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment, including conveyors, motors, and production machinery.
- Operate standard maintenance tools such as power tools, basic hand tools, electric tools, precision tools, and preventative maintenance tools.
- Use maintenance computer software to document completed work, record conditions found, and update maintenance records accurately.
- Diagnose complex equipment failures and determine effective repair strategies.
- Work from mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions to complete repairs and installations.
- Support installation, service, and maintenance repair of industrial equipment, including CNC and automated systems.
- Perform electrical maintenance and troubleshooting, including work on 3-phase power and PLC‑controlled equipment, as assigned.
- Assist with fabrication, welding, and basic HVAC‑related tasks as needed to support facility operations.
- Follow safety procedures and best practices while working in a fast‑paced industrial environment.
- At least 6 months of industrial maintenance experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands‑on experience in industrial maintenance and repair.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical equipment and diagnosing equipment failures.
- Experience performing preventative maintenance on industrial machinery.
- Ability to read and work from schematics, blueprints, drawings, and verbal instructions.
- Basic electrical knowledge, including electrical troubleshooting and electrical maintenance.
- Familiarity with hydraulics and pneumatics in an industrial setting.
- Ability to use a wide range of maintenance tools, including power tools, hand tools, and precision tools.
- Valid driver’s license.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with industrial automation and PLC troubleshooting or PLC controls.
- Experience in working with conveyors, motors, and production equipment.
- Exposure to CNC equipment installation, service, or maintenance.
- Experience with welding and fabrication in an industrial environment.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems in a production or industrial setting.
- Comfort working with 3‑phase electrical systems.
- Ability to use maintenance computer software to document work and track maintenance activities.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $47,000.00 - $70,000.00/yr.
