Direct Support - Virtual Connection Specialist Nights

We are seeking dependable, compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) with experience to provide remote support through EPI's Virtual Connection Center (VCC). Virtual Connection Specialists support adults with mental illness, brain injuries, and intellectual or developmental disabilities by helping them remain safe, connected, and as independent as possible while also supporting direct support staff in the field.

• Build meaningful relationships while supporting adults with mental illness, brain injuries, and intellectual or developmental disabilities.
• Provide remote support, guidance, and problem-solving assistance to persons served and direct support staff through EPI's Virtual Connection Center.
• Support individuals' health, safety, and well-being by responding to questions, concerns, alerts, and urgent situations.
• Utilize video communication, sensors, and other support technology to promote independence and identify support needs.
• Coordinate additional assistance and dispatch onsite support when needed.
• Complete accurate and timely electronic documentation regarding support provided and significant events.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 18 years or older required.
• Two (2) years of experience in human services, healthcare, disability services, mental health services, residential services, behavioral health, direct support, case management, or a related field required.
• Ability to learn and utilize computer technology to effectively support persons served and staff required.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screening required.
• Current valid driver's license, auto insurance, a good driving record, and reliable vehicle required.
• Ability to pass an extensive background check, including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, the Sex Offender Registry, criminal history, and driving records required.

• Pay Rate: $17.75-$19.75 per hour depending upon experience
• Schedule:
  
  Seven consecutive overnight shifts (awake), Wednesday through Tuesday, followed by seven consecutive days off
• Hours:
  
  7:30 PM-7:30 AM
• Location:
  
  Waterloo, IA. This is an in-person position located within EPI's Virtual Connection Center.
