Job Overview
Ferguson is currently seeking a Picking Manager for our Waterloo location. The candidate will manage a team of hourly associates working the 2nd shift (2:00 pm – 12:00 am) and will oversee the picking and shipping of outbound orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Responsibilities- Adhere to company compliance and Health Safety & Environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and requirements
- Work as a team with shipping under the direction of the Shift Manager to ensure inventory integrity and quality of work
- Hire, train, and develop a productive picking team by providing professional development for all associates
- Supervise and coordinate picking and shipping of outbound orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness with product and paperwork
- Drive the implementation of improvement and standardization measures across fulfilment to meet operational objectives
- Maintain an orderly, clean warehouse space and use space effectively
- Maintain relationships with all departments to ensure smooth shipping and delivery of goods, acting as a key knowledge point for the team
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
- 5+ years of management/supervisory or people leadership experience in warehouse management or distribution
- Experience with WMS and LMS systems preferred
- Proficiency in OSHA and DOT regulations
- Project‑management experience (Lean, Kaizen, Agile) desired
- Experience implementing employee engagement, mentoring, and development initiatives
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet multiple demands and timelines
- Background in warehouse operations and logistics, including shipping, receiving, delivery, and inventory required
- Material handling equipment certification preferred
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast‑paced distribution center environment, ensuring safety, efficiency, and accuracy
- Solid understanding of OSHA regulations
Pay Range: $3,918.60 – $8,621.80 per month (salaried roles) or hourly for other roles. This role is eligible for a bonus or incentive plan.
