Payroll Specialist

Our client, a well-established organization in Connecticut, is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team. This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while supporting employees and leadership with payroll-related questions and reporting.

Responsibilities
Process a biweekly payroll for 150 employees in a timely and accurate manner
Review and verify timekeeping records, deductions, and payroll adjustments
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Maintain payroll records and employee data within the payroll/HRIS system
Respond to employee inquiries related to pay, deductions, benefits, and tax with holdings
Prepare payroll reports and assist with month-end and year-end processes, including W-2 preparation
Coordinate with HR and Finance teams regarding new hires, terminations, and compensation changes
Assist with payroll audits and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications
2+ years of payroll processing experience
Strong understanding of payroll regulations and tax compliance
Experience with payroll systems (ADP, Paychex, UKG, or similar)
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
Proficiency with Excel and reporting tools
Excellent communication and organizational skills
