Building-Based Substitute Teacher (Elementary)
Watertown Public Schools seeks an exceptional Building-Based Substitute Teacher who is highly qualified and knowledgeable to join our community of teachers, learners, and leaders. This is an exciting opportunity for teachers who desire to serve where their efforts matter. The Building Base Substitute Teacher will perform the in-person instructional practices outlined by the teacher who is absent. The candidate should have a strength in managing and leading classroom schedules and activities that define the school day.
Building Base Substitute Teachers are assigned to a single school to cover teacher absences. Assignments at the school may be subject to change daily. Position cannot be combined with any other positions in the City or the School Department.

Sensory Requirements:
Most tasks require visual perception and discrimination and the ability to distinguish color. The employee must be able to read printed matter with or without visual aids. The employee must be able to visually supervise students in small and large group settings as well as vocational or community settings. The employee must be able to communicate effectively with other staff members in order to exchange accurate information.
Work Environment:
The noise level in this environment may be quiet to loud depending on the activity and the particular time of the day and location. The activity level in a classroom, school and community-based settings is often busy. The employee interacts with other staff members and occasionally must meet multiple demands from several people.
