Position: Service Provider (Part-Time) (SY26-27)

Private School Proportionate Share Educational Service Provider

The Private School Proportionate Share Educational Service Provider works with eligible students studying at private schools located in Watertown. The preferred candidate has experience in the following areas:
Common Core and MA state curriculum frameworks; effective communication and collaborative relationship building with colleagues and parents; knowledge of special education strategies in teaching literacy and math; is organized, flexible, creative, and a self-reflective with a growth mindset.

This is a part-time, up to 18-hour-per-week position that is federal grant funded and not benefits eligible.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor students' academic progress in targeted areas and document student growth and outcomes
  • Design and carry out developmentally appropriate, motivating activities as required in accordance with each eligible student's services plan
  • Adapt methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs
  • Maintain appropriate standards of behavior, mutual respect and safety
  • Maintain effective communication with administration, parents, counselors, and related service providers
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  • Valid DESE Teacher of Moderate Disabilities preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required;
    Master's degree preferred
  • Dual licensure - TMD and content area - preferred
  • Experience working with students with a range of disabilities in a school setting preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to travel between private school locations within Watertown.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the school day.
  • Ability to lift and carry instructional materials and equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as needed to support student learning.
  • Ability to use a computer and other technology for instruction and documentation.
  • Ability to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment, which may require responding quickly to student needs.
