Position: Extended School Year School Nurse
Department: Extended School Year – Summer 2026
Location: Hosmer Elementary School / WHS Moxley
Reports to: ESY Coordinators
General Description: The role involves providing direct care to students, ensuring health plans are updated, and communicating with families about illnesses or injuries. The nurse will handle daily needs, maintain care logs, support field trips, and attend training.
Responsibilities- Provide direct service and treatment when needed.
- Ensure student health plans (allergy, asthma, seizure, etc.) are up-to-date and followed.
- Communicate with families regarding student illnesses, symptoms, injuries, and care given.
- Respond to daily building-based nursing needs.
- Maintain logs of care administered and complete required documentation.
- Provide support to field trips as needed.
- Attend pre-program training.
- BSN or RN license.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- CPR/First Aid Certification.
- Experience as a school nurse, particularly pediatric expertise.
