Mass Spectrometry Research Associate; levels

Parallel Squared Technology Institute (PTI) is a non‑profit research institute focusing on developing protein analysis technologies to investigate disease mechanisms, particularly Alzheimer’s disease and aging.

We are looking for a Research Associate or Senior Research Associate who is interested in mass spectrometry. The role involves maintaining MS instruments for running large numbers of samples across various projects, along with other responsibilities. A cover letter is required for serious consideration.

• Set up, operate and maintain mass spectrometers from multiple major vendors.
• Prepare protein samples.
• Manage inventory of reagents and samples.
• Analyze experimental data and interpret results for internal and public presentations.
• Prepare lab reagents and media.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field. Advanced degrees or >2 years of experience considered for Senior RA.
• Basic proficiency with biochemistry or chemistry techniques.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm and interest in analytical chemistry.
• High level of initiative and flexibility with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and good time management.

• Familiarity with analytical techniques, particularly mass spectrometry.
• Familiarity with liquid chromatography.
• Experience with protein and peptide sample preparation and purification methods.

Salary: $72,400 - $85,000 per year
