Research Assistant/Associate, Research Scientist
Summary
We are looking for a Research Associate or Senior Research Associate interested in mass spectrometry. The role involves maintaining MS instruments for running a large number of samples for various projects. A cover letter is required for serious consideration.
Responsibilities- Set up, operate, and maintain mass spectrometers from multiple major vendors.
- Perform protein sample preparation.
- Manage inventory of reagents and samples.
- Analyze experimental data and interpret results for internal and public presentations.
- Prepare lab reagents and media.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field (advanced degrees or >2 years experience considered for Senior RA).
- Basic proficiency with biochemistry or chemistry techniques.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm and interest in analytical chemistry.
- High initiative and flexibility; excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Good time management.
- Familiarity with analytical techniques; mass spectrometry preferred.
- Familiarity with liquid chromatography.
- Protein and peptide sample preparation and purification methods.
- Passion for science and technology and eagerness to work in a team environment.
- Love of learning new techniques, technologies, and concepts.
- Commitment to open science and broad dissemination of work.
