Summary:
Watertown Public Schools seeks an exceptional
Parent Outreach & Family Resource Coordinator
who is highly qualified and knowledgeable to join our community of teachers, learners, and leaders. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who desires to serve where their efforts matter.
The Parent Outreach & Family Resource Coordinator will work to increase families’ understanding and awareness of the CFCE Grant and the supports available to them within the community. This position will build relationships with parents and caregivers, serve as a welcoming and accessible resource for families, and help connect them with community-based supports and services.
Responsibilities:
- Increase families’ understanding and awareness of the CFCE Grant and the supports available to them within the community
- Build positive, trusting relationships with parents and caregivers and serve as a welcoming and accessible resource for families
- Help families navigate and access resources such as food assistance, vouchers, public school programs and services, early childhood supports, and other community resources
- Develop and strengthen partnerships with local organizations, schools, and community agencies to create a network of support for families
- Assist families in identifying and connecting with appropriate community-based programs, services, and resources
- Support community outreach efforts that increase awareness of available resources and services
- Collaborate with the CFCE Grant Coordinator and community partners to ensure resources are accessible and responsive to the needs of families
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism when working with families and community partners
- Participate in outreach activities and programs sponsored by the CFCE, as designated by the CFCE Grant Coordinator
Knowledge and
Skills:
- Experience working with diverse families and knowledge of their needs is preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills in the dominant home language of the families
- Ability to take independent initiative while committing to collaboration
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create and maintain strong community collaborations
- Knowledge of local community resources and services is preferred
- Ability to connect families with resources in a welcoming, respectful, and culturally responsive manner
- Willingness to learn and apply new skills and content
- Sensitivity to cultural diversity and the varied needs of families
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Bilingual preferred
Qualifications – Preferred:
- Experience working with families of young children (ages 0–6)
- Experience providing family support, parent outreach, community outreach, or resource navigation
- Knowledge/experience with public school programs and services
- Knowledge/experience with early childhood programs and community-based services
- Experience developing and/or supporting community partnerships
- Experience connecting families with public benefits, food assistance, vouchers, or other community resources
- Sensitivity to children and families at different developmental levels and with diverse needs
- Sensitivity to cultural diversity
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Bilingual
