Job Description:
Jefferson Community College, Watertown, New York, part of the State University of New York (SUNY) System, is conducting a search for a full-time Educational Planner of Veteran Services. Responsibilities include academic advising, educational planning, career and transfer advising, and retention support for the student military population ving student veterans, military and dependents, this position will ensure the implementation of program activities and services designed to enhance their educational experiences.
This position provides seamless and exceptional service through personalized support and attention that fosters student success and engagement. This position works closely with external agencies at the state and federal levels whose work affects the lives of veterans, military and their family members. Overnight travel, evening and weekend commitments will be required. Professional staff are expected to advance the College's focus on student success and completion and will work closely with the College's leadership to advance the mission of the current Strategic Plan which may be reviewed by clicking on the link below.
Requirements:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of appropriate professional experience.
Applicants must interact and communicate effectively with diverse populations, foster inclusion, and promote equal access and treatment for groups traditionally under-represented in higher education.
Preferred:
Master's Degree in Counseling, Higher Education, Educational Administration or related area. A minimum of three years of experience in program planning, budget formulation, and management. Experience in counseling, college admissions, advising or student financial aid is highly desirable.

Job Description
Advertised Salary: $47,589 - $52,347 for well-qualified individuals. Salary is determined based upon experience and education in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement as well as internal equity. The College offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, vision, and dental insurance, long term disability, generous leave policies, paid holidays, pre-tax flexible spending accounts, tax-deferred Compensation, NYS retirement, as well as employee and dependent tuition waivers.
May qualify for public service loan forgiveness.
