Job Description:

Jefferson Community College is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to grow our adjunct pool. Instructors are sought to fill lecture and laboratory courses offered in the first two years of an engineering science program including engineering fundamentals, computer aided design and drafting, engineering design and build, statics, dynamics, and mechanics of materials.

Requirements:

Qualified candidates will have a master's degree or higher in Engineering, Engineering Education or a closely related field. Preference will be given to those with interest and/or experience with robotics and UAV's, teaching in various modalities, and the ability to motivate students from diverse backgrounds. In extraordinary cases, a bachelor's degree in may be sufficient to fill a vacancy. Applicants must interact and communicate effectively with diverse populations, foster inclusion, and promote equal access and treatment for groups traditionally under-represented in higher education.

Additional Information:

This is a pooled search. Jefferson Community College is seeking to develop a pool of qualified applicants to teach courses in various disciplines within engineering. Adjunct applications will be kept on file for three years to fill part-time teaching vacancies as they occur.

The College determines the need for adjunct instructors based on planned courses each term; it is not possible to predict the need for future semesters. When an opening does occur, finalists for adjunct positions are contacted for interviews.

Level A - $665/credit hour

Level B - $785/credit hour after teaching 6 semesters at Jefferson.
