Job Description:

Jefferson Community College is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to grow our adjunct pool. We are seeking Mechatronics Adjunct Instructor to teach introductory manufacturing mechanical processes to include;
Basic Mechanisms, Semiconductor Manufacturing, Basic Maintenance Tools and Procedures, Programmable Logic Controllers, AC/DC Motors and Encoders, Fluid Power Systems, Technical Drawings, Electricity and DC Circuits, and Vacuum Systems. Must be able to teach hands-on instruction courses with practical laboratory activities in a college setting; maintain and deliver handouts for each section/course taught; prepare and deliver lectures; maintain accurate student records.

Requirements:

Required:

Bachelor's degree, or associate's degree in engineering or mechatronics; minimum of three (3) years of industry experience in an industrial automation or repair field.

Applicants must interact and communicate effectively with diverse populations, foster inclusion, and promote equal access and treatment for groups traditionally under-represented in higher education.

Preferred:
One (1) year teaching at the college or high school level; ability and willingness to teach courses scheduled between 8am and 4pm as well as evening courses between 6pm and 9pm.

This is a pooled search. Jefferson Community College is seeking to develop a pool of qualified applicants. Adjunct applications will be kept on file for three years to fill part-time teaching vacancies as they occur.

The College determines the need for adjunct instructors based on planned courses each term; it is not possible to predict the need for future semesters. When an opening does occur, finalists for adjunct positions are contacted for interviews.

Level A - $665/credit hour

Level B - $785/credit hour after teaching 6 semesters at Jefferson.
