Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU contract in New York requiring a current NY RN license and previous travel assignment experience.
Responsibilities- Work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU/CCU) within a hospital setting
- Night shift, 12 hours per shift, 3 shifts per week
- 13-week contract assignment
- Weekend and holiday shifts required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Strong leadership, prioritization, and delegation skills required
- May be required to assume charge nurse responsibilities
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills necessary
- Must be able to function effectively in stressful situations and demonstrate effective problem-solving
- Must recognize and address safety considerations when moving patients
- Former employees must have not worked at the facility in the past two years and meet rehire eligibility requirements
- Applicants must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; no local candidates will be accepted
- Active NY RN license required
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- PALS certification preferred
- Must have completed at least one successful traveler assignment; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Critical care nursing experience preferred
- Successful completion of a coronary care course or challenge exam within orientation period
- Ability to obtain NIHSS certification within first 6 months of employment
- Prior basic lethal dysrhythmia competency within six months of employment
