Job Details- Position: ICU Registered Nurse (RN) / Critical Care Nurse / Travel RN
- Location: Watertown, NY 13601 — Upstate New York travel nursing opportunity
- Assignment Type: Travel, On-site, W2 travel nurse
- Start Date: March 23, 2026
- End Date: June 24, 2026
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shifts: Rotating 12-hour shifts (nights and days), 3 shifts per week, including weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,990 - $2,100
- Openings: 1
- 100-Mile Radius Rule: Applicants must reside at least 100 miles from Watertown, NY (13601) to be eligible for this travel assignment.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current and active New York State RN license required
- Minimum 1 year recent ICU / critical care nursing experience required
- Must have completed at least one successful travel RN assignment (experienced travelers only)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS preferred
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) certification required within first 6 months of employment
- Strong clinical assessment skills with experience in ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and cardiac monitoring
- Proficient with IV infusions, central/arterial line care, medication administration, and EMR documentation
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to recognize and address safety issues, including safe patient handling and use of lifts
- Leadership skills with ability to prioritize, delegate, and assume charge nurse duties as needed
- Previous employees must have been separated for at least 2 years and be eligible for rehire
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based critical care nursing to adult ICU patients
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
- Respond to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions
- Manage ventilators, administer and titrate vasoactive drips, and perform hemodynamic monitoring
- Administer medications and IV therapies safely; manage central lines, arterial lines, and other critical care devices
- Educate and support patients and families through critical care and discharge planning
- Recognize and address safety concerns for patients and staff; adhere to safe patient handling protocols
- Demonstrate leadership, effective prioritization, and delegation; may serve as charge nurse when required
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Function effectively in high-stress situations and apply strong clinical judgment and creative problem-solving
