Job Description:

The Nursing Department at Jefferson Community College is seeking part-time adjunct faculty for Clinical instructors to grow our adjunct pool. Clinical assignments include medical-surgical, mental health, and maternity areas.

Required:

PN Clinical instructor requirements:
Current unencumbered license as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State, bachelor's degree in nursing or associate degree in nursing and be enrolled in and actively pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in nursing, and significant nursing experience in acute care or long-term care.

RN Clinical instructor requirements:
Current unencumbered license as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State, master's degree in nursing, or bachelor's degree in nursing and be enrolled in and actively pursuing a master's degree or higher in nursing, and significant nursing experience in acute care or specialty area (maternity, pediatrics, mental health).

Applicants must also demonstrate effective communication with diverse populations, foster inclusion, and promote equal access and treatment for groups traditionally under-represented in higher education.

Preferred:
Master's degree or higher in nursing, experience in nursing education, experience as a mentor/preceptor/coach, experience in curriculum development.

Additional Information:

This is a pooled search. Jefferson Community College is seeking to develop a pool of qualified applicants to teach clinical in an acute care setting. Adjunct applications will be kept on file for three years to fill part-time teaching vacancies as they occur.

The College determines the need for adjunct instructors based on planned courses each term; it is not possible to predict the need for future semesters. When an opening does occur, finalists for adjunct positions are contacted for interviews.

Current Rates:

Top G4: $59.68 (Master's degree or higher in nursing after teaching 6 semesters)

Level B + 10%: $56.10 (Master's degree or higher in nursing with no teaching experience)

Top G2: $52.97 (Bachelor's degree in nursing after teaching 6 semesters)

Level B: $51.00 (Bachelor's degree in nursing with no teaching experience)

Level A: $45.90 (Associates degree in nursing, no teaching experience)
