Position Overview

We are looking for a Materials Manager who has extensive experience in a manufacturing setting. The role is responsible for managing the auditing of bills of lading for materials received, inspecting materials for good condition in cooperation with the Quality Manager and Quality Inspectors, managing inventory control to ensure materials are added to inventory, secured, and distributed accurately, and ensuring safe stocks and cycle counts are performed.

The Materials Manager also oversees shipping finished goods, returns, and other materials to customers, suppliers, and others as required, working with internal and external shipping and distribution resources to meet goals.

Duties
  • Provides leadership and direction to direct reports responsible for all inbound and outbound equipment/components/material.
  • Leads the inventory control management processes and directs activities of inventory control employees.
  • Leads annual physical inventory.
  • Interprets and enforces company policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Manages inventory control, conducts or leads cycle counting and inventory control processes and audits.
  • Accurately documents all receivables from multiple sources (Fed Ex, UPS, USPS, Pine Drivers, Customer Drop Off and other sources).
  • Assists the Quality Department with inspections of all equipment/components/material upon arrival.
  • Generates receipt of goods reports with three (3) check‑off/sign‑off prior to submittal to accounting.
  • Communicates all discrepancies (missing items, damages, unexpected returns, and others) promptly to operations management and scheduling.
  • Maintains a clean and efficient work area at all times.
  • Reviews, generates, and implements processes to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Measures work performance, compares results to objectives, and takes corrective actions.
  • Establishes, maintains, and promotes exceptional customer service.
  • Analyzes and recommends improvements to procedures and methods regarding inventory accuracy, operational processes, streamlining, and customer service.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of ERP with Oracle experience preferred; inventory control experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Strong skills in Excel, data mining, and tracking KPIs.
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Microsoft Office skills required; MS Visio and MS Professional preferred.
  • High School Diploma/GED required; post‑secondary education in manufacturing management‑supply chain management strongly encouraged.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in problem‑solving.
  • Adaptability to a fast‑paced and changing environment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
  • Knowledgeable in the principles and practices of effective customer service.
Salary

Salary range for this position is $104,000 to $125,000 per year. Pay is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
