Summary
The shipping coordinator is responsible for scheduling various trucks via phone, email, and customer portals for the planning team, to ensure that cabs and service parts are shipped on the right style of truck. Communicate with dispatch and drivers to ensure product is picked up and delivered in a timely manner. Generate paperwork (pack slips, BOL, commercial invoice) for all outgoing shipments for dedicated and LTL (Less Than a Truckload) carriers in US and overseas.
Communicate with all team members to ensure product is meeting deadlines. Send ASN’s electronically for certain customers once product has shipped. Overall making sure they have completed the necessary documents for the drivers.
A successful candidate is a self‑motivated multi‑tasker that utilizes a strong work ethic to ensure all quality levels are met.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinates material flow into finished goods.
- Inputs information shipping details into computer system.
- Sets up pick up schedules for trucks over the phone and email or customer portal.
- Ensures timely shipments of products to customer.
- Generates and completes documentation that accompanies the load to the customer.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Good oral and written communication skills – including legible writing.
- Intermediate computer skills (MS Office Software and WI Computer System).
- 0–1 years’ experience in shipping and receiving.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills.
- Multi‑tasking.
- Oracle knowledge (is a plus).
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Excel).
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience working within computer/ERP systems.
- Work Hours/Status:
- The 1st shift includes Monday - Thursday 5am – 3pm.
- Overtime as required.
