Description of Position:
The Medical Personnel Supervisor at Serenity Hills oversees the medical aspects of the Detoxification Program and supports the health and medical needs of clients in the Halfway House Program. This position provides direct client care, supervises medical staff, and helps ensure safe, high-quality services in accordance with agency policies and applicable standards.
Full-Time: 40 hours per week
Schedule:
Primarily daytime hours, with occasional evening hours as needed
Salary: $55,000–$65,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications

- Complete medical admission assessments for clients entering the Detoxification and Halfway House Programs.
- Monitor client health and provide ongoing medical assessments and interventions.
- Administer or assist clients with medications according to physician orders.
- Respond to medical concerns and crisis situations in a calm and effective manner.
- Provide health and nutrition education, discharge planning, and aftercare support.
- Oversee medical services within the Detoxification Program and Appropriate Regional Facility.
- Supervise, support, and provide training to Serenity Hills medical staff.
- Ensure appropriate documentation is completed accurately and timely in accordance with agency policies and applicable requirements.
- Participate in treatment planning, quality assurance, and continuous improvement activities.
- Monitor the Serenity Hills environment to ensure appropriate health and safety standards are maintained.
- Collaborate with the clinical team regarding client care, treatment planning, and program needs.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries with clients and former clients.
- Promote positive communication, teamwork, and professional relationships among staff and clients.
- Complete required training and certifications and maintain regular, reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer. Infrequent light physical activity is required, including occasionally lifting up to 10 pounds and rarely lifting up to 25 pounds. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle occasionally.
Qualifications- Current South Dakota License as a RN.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
- Successful completion of criminal background check.
- Supervisory experience is preferred.
- One year of combination of education and/or experience in the chemical dependency and/or mental health fields preferred.
