Role Description

The Industry Leaders role at PIPESTONE is a full-time, on-site position based in Watertown, SD. This role is responsible for guiding and supporting farmers in the adoption of best practices in pig health, nutrition, management, and business operations. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with farm teams, reviewing performance and production data, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing evidence-based solutions. The role also involves coordinating with veterinary, nutrition, and research specialists, providing training and education to farm staff, and ensuring alignment with PIPESTONE standards and industry regulations.

Industry Leaders are expected to maintain strong relationships with farmers, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and help drive sustainable growth for client operations.

Qualifications
  • Experience in livestock or agricultural production, preferably in swine, with practical knowledge of herd management and farm operations.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret production, health, and financial data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including veterinary, nutrition, and research professionals, to support farm success.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with farmers and train farm staff in best practices.
  • Solid understanding of animal welfare, biosecurity, and regulatory compliance relevant to modern pig production.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Agribusiness, or a related field; equivalent experience in the industry may be considered.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential, including the ability to influence change, manage projects, and support multiple farm locations.
  • Willingness to work on-site at farms, travel within the region as needed, and adapt to seasonal and operational demands.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications and comfort using software tools for data entry, analysis, and reporting.
