Job Title: Staff Computer Vision AI/ML Engineer
Locations: Aurora, CO or King of Prussia, PA
OverviewAs a CV AI/ML Engineer, you will apply cutting‑edge AI/ML computer vision algorithms to remote sensing problems, including Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) and multimodal data fusion for Electro‑Optical (EO) and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR). You will mature, optimize, and deploy these algorithms to a cloud‑hosted environment and serve as a technical leader guiding a team through prototype to operations.
Responsibilities- Lead a small team of developers and researchers to implement AI/ML algorithms for remote‑sensing computer vision challenges.
- Analyze and preprocess large remote‑sensing datasets.
- Research supervised and unsupervised ATR solutions for remote sensing.
- Investigate performance benefits of multimodal data fusion for ATR under diverse data‑collection scenarios.
- Train, optimize, and deploy deep learning CV models that provide analysts with actionable insights.
- Review relevant publications to understand cutting‑edge concepts, distill key ideas to government customers, and apply them to defense and commercial applications.
- Write technical documentation supporting code, program capabilities, and user guides.
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- B.S. in Data Science, AI/ML, Computer Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience, preferably in software development or data science, with 3+ years developing/training AI/ML models.
- Experience leading interdisciplinary teams of researchers and software developers and collaborating with program managers to define scope and schedule.
- Experience selecting a technical AI/ML approach and iterating/pivoting to enhance performance.
- Proficiency in Python and one or more of:
PyTorch, Tensor Flow, Keras, PyTorch Lightning, scikit‑learn/scikit‑image, OpenCV. - Experience training convolutional or transformer‑based CV models (e.g., YOLOv3‑11, YOLOX, Vision Transformer, Swin).
- Effective communicator capable of writing and presenting technical reports internally and to customers.
- MS or Ph.D. in machine learning, computer science, computer vision, mathematics, or related fields.
- Experience with self‑supervised learning (SSL) and student‑teacher approaches (e.g., DINO, knowledge distillation, BYOL).
- Experience applying AI/ML algorithms to image segmentation, super‑resolution, denoising, restoration, and multi‑INT fusion.
- Experience with graph convolutional networks (GCNs) applied to CV problems.
- Experience working with image‑processing chains for SAR, EO, and OPIR.
- Experience with datasets such as xView, Space Net, Functional Map of the World, xView3, MSTAR, HRSID, CAESAR, DOTA v1/v2.
- Familiarity with AWS cloud resources (EC2, S3, Lambda, etc.).
- Experience with version‑control processes/tools for code, data, and model.
- Linux experience.
- Experience implementing tracking, fusion, and pattern‑of‑life algorithms.
- Experience in application deployment, virtualization, and containerization.
- Experience shaping and writing proposals.
- Active TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance with Polygraph.
