Job SummaryProvides administrative/clerical support to one or more departments. Coordinates the effective functioning of the credentialing process to ensure compliance with State and Federal requirements, accreditation standards, Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and applicable policies and procedures.
Essential Functions- Composes and responds by email to routine correspondence.
- Coordinates schedules, makes appointments, and arranges travel.
- Creates and maintains electronic spreadsheets and databases.
- Coordinates and schedules meetings, prepares agendas, reserves, and prepares facilities and records and transcribes meeting minutes.
- Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company’s Code of Business Conduct, its policies and procedures, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards.
- Performs all aspects of credentialing, including appointment, reappointment, privileging, and proctoring.
- Responsible for the coordination and effective functioning of Medical Staff clinical department and committee meetings to ensure compliance with the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and applicable policies and procedures.
- Maintains confidential credentials files and electronic medical staff database.
- Exhibits a high degree of responsibility for confidential matters.
- Skilled in the development and use of spreadsheets and word processing applications.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and their family members, and at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and follow-up.
- Must read, write and speak fluent English.
- Must have good and regular attendance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent including education equivalent to completion of secondary school or demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the role. (Preferred)
- CMSC - Certified Medical Staff Coordinator Upon Hire (Preferred)
- Prior Experience with credentialing initial appointment and reappointment applications in an acute care hospital (Required) And
- Prior Experience with preparing medical staff department/committee meetings and composing minutes (Required) And
- Prior Experience with or direct involvement in a combined accreditation and licensing survey at an acute care hospital (Required)
