Store Assistant Manager
Responsibilities and duties include the following:
- Operate all equipment.
- Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk‑in cooler.
- Prepare product.
- Receive and process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
- Deliver product by car to the store and then to customers’ doors.
- Deliver flyers and door hangers.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record that meets company standards.
- Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
- Must pass a background check and have open availability.
Orientation and training provided on the job.
Communication SkillsAbility to comprehend, give written instructions, communicate verbally with customers and co‑workers over the phone and in person, and lead training.
Essential Functions & SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately (calculator may be used). Must make correct monetary change, have voice, writing, and telephone communication skills, motor coordination between eyes and hands, enter orders using a keyboard or touch screen, and maintain cost controls.
Navigational SkillsRead maps and locate addresses within a designated delivery area. Navigate adverse terrain including multi‑story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying product.
Work ConditionsExposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when removing trash and performing other outdoor tasks. In‑store temperatures range from 36 °F in the cooler to 90 °F and above in some work areas. Sudden temperature changes, fumes from food odors, exposure to cornmeal dust, cramped quarters including walk‑in cooler, hot surfaces/tools up to 500 °F, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.
Physical DemandsStanding:
Most tasks performed standing. Walking on ceramic tile bricks or linoleum in food process areas; work surfaces 36–48 in high. Walking in short distances and durations. Delivery personnel must travel between store and vehicle and to customer locations.
Sitting:
Paperwork normally done at desk or table.
Lifting:
Bulk product deliveries, cases up to 50 lb, 3×1.5 ft, stacked onto shelves up to 72 high.
Carrying:
Large cans, 4‑lb, pizza sauce 30 lb, trays of pizza dough three at a time (~12 lb each).
Driving:
Deliver pizzas within designated area; several deliveries per shift.
Pushing:
Move trays on dollies, force up to 7.5 lb.
Climbing:
Infrequent stairs or ladders; navigate five or more flights during delivery.
Bending:
Forward bending at pizza assembly station, roughly 40–45 s at a time.
Reaching:
Up to 72 in above for oven controls, sign changes, shelf work; down for scooping cornmeal, washing dishes; forward when obtaining toppings, cleaning, phone.
Handling:
Work requires continuous eye‑hand coordination.
Machines/tools:
Pencils, pens, computer, telephone, calculator, TDD, pizza cutter, pizza peel.
