Position Facility:
Watertown
Producing high-quality products for our customers and consumers to enjoy starts with immaculate facilities. As a member of Johnsonville’s sanitation team, you’ll ensure all our facilities are cleaned in accordance with strict procedures to meet or exceed our high sanitation and food-safety standards. Working with chemicals, hoses, lifts and other equipment, you’ll ensure our facilities are ready for the next shift of production.
Position Overview
Pay Range: $29.83 - $35.76 per hour, plus $2.00 shift premium.
Hours: 9:00pm – 5:30am (end time varies depending on production needs). Overtime expected including weekend hours as needed.
Responsibilities- Lead and coach a team of Members to consistently deliver strong performance
- Lead, develop and initiate process improvement efforts
- Conduct and lead effective pre-shift meetings
- Monitor and ensure timely completion of the master sanitation schedule
- Ensure sanitation and food safety specifications are met. Train and coach Members on those processes. Be responsible for the performance, productivity and efficient utilization of resources
- Keep coaches/members informed of problems/issues that may affect their process
- Communicate effectively with all departments and Members
- Manage the execution of the 7 steps of sanitation, meeting Johnsonville’s and USDA’s standards of acceptability
- Conduct environmental and bioluminescence swabbing
- Complete sanitation documentation accurately
- Proper set up and teardown knowledge of equipment within Finished Goods/Harvest
- In-depth knowledge of equipment functions and the ability to assist in troubleshooting
- Identify and resolve potential problems and niche points
- Ability to create and implement new processes and procedures
- Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree is required for outside candidates.
- Internal candidates who do not have a high school diploma or advanced degree may be considered
- Two years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role, highly preferred
- Basic Sanitation experience preferred
- Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs)
- Identify Critical Control Points (CCPs) in area of responsibility and maintain all GMPs
- Problem solving ability
- Strong decision-making with limited resources
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Role model to all Members
- Dependable, honest and proactive
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong math background
- Comply with GMPs and safety rules
- Ability to become certified in chemical usage
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred, but not required
- Ability to work at heights above ground level
- Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 lbs, and hand grip up to 60 lbs regularly
- Ability to work in cold and wet conditions
- Ability to hold a hose for an extended period
- Must be at least 18 years old
