Position Summary
The Quality Control Technician provides technical support to ensure product quality, regulatory compliance, and environmental standards are consistently met. This role performs chemical testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products, analyzes results, and recommends adjustments as needed. The position also supports continuous improvement efforts and actively participates in Quality, Health, and Safety programs, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Follow all safety policies and maintain safe work practices in accordance with company standards.
- Conduct testing on raw materials, production batches, and finished goods; accurately record and evaluate results.
- Calculate and recommend product adjustments to meet quality specifications.
- Ensure production aligns with Bill of Materials (BOM) requirements.
- Maintain accurate inventory transactions related to batch production.
- Calibrate, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Prepare and review Certificates of Analysis (CoAs) for raw materials and finished goods.
- Perform internal and finished goods audits; support ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 compliance efforts.
- Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) and support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
- Collaborate with R&D and Regulatory teams on product or process improvements and non-conformance issues.
- Prepare lab samples for testing new materials, processes, or troubleshooting production issues.
- Maintain laboratory supplies and ensure proper inventory levels.
- Review and update laboratory procedures and work instructions as needed.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. - Experience:
1–2 years of quality control or laboratory experience preferred. - Skills & Knowledge:
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, excellent written and verbal communication skills, analytical thinking and problem-solving capability, knowledge of laboratory procedures and analytical chemistry techniques, experience with laboratory instrumentation and calibration, proficiency in Microsoft Office and systems such as SAP or similar ERP tools. - Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 4 hours at a time); ability to occasionally lift up to 45 lbs.
The expected compensation range for this position is between $40,390.00 and $59,235.00 plus discretionary bonuses. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plan, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
