Accounts Receivable/ Collections, Accounting Assistant
Job Summary:
Processes, monitors, and reconciles payments on accounts receivable.
Receive payments and allowances from insurance payers and other sources and accurately enter payments, allowances, and account adjustments into the financial system. Review accounts for debit and credit balances and route them to the appropriate teams for resolution, including collectors and the refund processing unit. Review and process insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements to ensure payments and adjustments are accurate and properly applied.
Identify and report recurring insurance payment discrepancies to the supervisor and collaborate with the Managed Care team to investigate and resolve issues. Reconcile bank deposits with payments entered into the financial system in a timely manner to maintain accurate financial and account information. Enter account adjustments submitted by department associates accurately and promptly. Monitor payment activity and account information to identify discrepancies and support accurate accounts receivable management.
Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while handling financial and patient account information. Work collaboratively with internal departments and payer-related teams to resolve payment and account issues.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work effectively with financial information, account records, and payment data. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to identify discrepancies, investigate issues, and follow established procedures for resolution. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with patient and financial information. Proficiency with computer systems and data entry. Previous experience in healthcare revenue cycle, accounts receivable, medical billing, insurance payments, or a related field is preferred.
CompensationInformation
$18.62 - $32.59 The hourly pay range shown represents the base pay range for this position. Individual pay is determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and market considerations. In addition to base pay, eligible team members may earn additional compensation through shift, weekend, holiday, on-call, and other applicable differentials.
