With a start date of August 15, 2026, Kents Hill’s new Math Teacher will collaborate with colleagues both in and out of the Math Department while striving to instill a love and curiosity of mathematics in students while advancing the Kents Hill curriculum and their own teaching practices.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • able to authentically engage learners in problems that extend beyond the walls of the classroom
  • culturally competent with skills for engaging with and learning from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences
  • passionate about the pursuit of their own personal growth through professional development
  • enthusiastic about contributing to a shared culture of high expectations and continuous growth– for students, colleagues, and yourself
  • committed to the boarding school student experience and excited to engage with students both inside and outside of the classroom. Typically, this includes:
    • residing in campus housing and engaging in all facets of residential life
    • advising a group of students
    • involvement in afternoon and extracurricular activities
QUALIFICATIONS and skills

The ideal candidate will have:

experience teaching mathematics at all levels, Algebra 1 to AP Calculus and/or AP Statistics

a growth mindset: eagerness to learn, reflect, and evolve as an educator, aligning with Kents Hill’s support for ongoing professional development.

excellent written and verbal communication skills

the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
