Waterville Public Schools is seeking a caring and enthusiastic First Grade Teacher to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will create a positive, engaging classroom environment that supports academic growth, social-emotional development, and a love of learning. Responsibilities include planning and delivering standards-based instruction, assessing student progress, collaborating with colleagues and families, and meeting the diverse needs of all learners.

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated;
• Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interest, and abilities of the students;
• Creates a safe classroom environment that is conducive to learning and is appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students;
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques to best meet the needs and capabilities of individuals or student groups involved;
• Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as needed;
• Diagnosis the learning styles, strengths, and weaknesses of students on a regular basis, seeking the assistance of district specialists as appropriate;
• Assumes other duties as assigned by the principal.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Education or other appropriate area of study.
• Appropriate Department of Education Authorization
• Experience working with children
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
