NDBS, LLC. is hiring a Commercial Business Officer in Waterville.

Role:

Responsible for evaluating business loan applications by assessing borrower creditworthiness. Developing and maintaining Credit Union business loan relationships by working closely with potential and existing borrowers. Liaison to contracted NDBS loan originator serviced Credit Unions, providing business lender services to business loan applicants. Understanding borrowers’ financial needs and providing tailored loan solutions. Ensuring compliance with State and Federal regulations. Monitoring loan applications from initial submission to closing, resolving any issues or concerns clients may have, and providing updates on loan statuses.

Maintain current business loan portfolio and provide risk mitigation strategies.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • (20%)Originate and close business loans for Credit Union and contracted NDBS loan originator serviced Credit Unions. Facilitates member interactions to understand borrowers’ financial needs, explain loan options, timelines, potential costs, and guide borrowers through the application process. Obtains business borrower information, including background of borrower and requisite financial information, in order to ensure complete loan application submission for credit analysis.
  • (20%)Monitors existing loan applications to ensure credit files are appropriately managed. Communicates with NDBS any additional information received during the life of loan process.
  • (15%)Maintain business loan portfolio, ensuring high-quality asset base by identifying any potential opportunities, credit risks, or delinquencies.
  • (10%)Assists in the collection of past due loans.
  • (10%)Conduct onsite inspections or in-person meetings for current member business accounts as necessary. This includes business loans serviced by NDBS.
  • (5%)Represent the credit union and NDBS in the community and perform other related duties as assigned.
  • (5%)Stay informed on market conditions, competitor offerings, and industry trends to position the credit union strategically.
  • (5%)Acquire high product knowledge such as NDBS services.
  • (5%)Identify potential cross-selling opportunities to business members through an understanding of borrowing needs.
  • (5%) Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
  • Adhere to the shared values of the organization.
  • Develop and maintain a minimum of five new qualified prospective business relationships per month (defined as documented business development meetings or formal loan/deposit opportunities).
  • Maintain assigned commercial loan portfolio delinquency and charge-off ratios within established departmental targets.
  • Ensure all loan originations and portfolio activities are compliant with applicable Federal, State, NCUA, and member business lending regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and current loan files and financial documentation.
  • Demonstrate measurable growth in commercial lending and deposit balances consistent with annual department goals.
  • Maintain active and professional community involvement aligned with business development objectives.
  • Provide informed, professional, and accurate service to all members, associates, and contracted credit unions.
Knowledge &

Skills:
  • Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
  • Education:(1) A bachelor’s degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor’s degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
