We are partnering with a well-established specialty chemicals organization that supports large-scale industrial and pulp & paper manufacturing facilities across the U.S. This team is expanding due to significant growth at a major paper manufacturing site in central Maine, and we are helping them add a hands-on Technical Service Representative to support day-to-day operations.
This is a field-based, on-site role for someone who enjoys being in the plant, solving real problems, and building long-term relationships with operations teams.
🌱 What This Role Is Really AboutThis position supports one primary manufacturing site and works closely with plant operations, maintenance, and engineering teams. You’ll be involved in:
- Providing technical service and support for specialty chemical applications
- Supporting pulp & paper, fleet wash, surface treatment, and industrial processes
- Helping customers optimize performance and reduce total operating costs
- Being a consistent on-site presence — proactive, not reactive
Some days are routine. Others may involve maintenance outages, test runs, or extended hours during critical work. If you like variety and learning, this role delivers.
đź§° Key Responsibilities- Provide hands-on technical service at an industrial manufacturing facility
- Support chemical application, testing, and process optimization
- Assist with equipment setup, basic troubleshooting, and inspections
- Document findings, test results, and recommendations
- Work safely in a unionized manufacturing environment with clear boundaries
- Collaborate with internal technical, sales, and support teams
- Participate in training, learning programs, and continuous improvement
This role can be a great fit for someone early to mid-career who is mechanically inclined, curious, and dependable.
- 2+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing, chemicals, utilities, food, water, or pulp & paper
- Strong mechanical aptitude (pumps, piping, systems, testing)
- Comfortable working independently on-site
- Understanding of LOTO and plant safety practices
- Willingness to work occasional extended or off-shift hours during maintenance
- Good communication and documentation skills
- Desire to learn and grow — extensive training is provided
Candidates with paper mill exposure are preferred, but strong industrial backgrounds are also considered.

- Primarily supports one large manufacturing site
- Limited overnight travel (approximately 25%)
