🔧 Technical Service Representative

Industrial Manufacturing | Pulp & Paper | Fleet & Surface Treatment
Central Maine Region

We are partnering with a well-established specialty chemicals organization that supports large-scale industrial and pulp & paper manufacturing facilities across the U.S. This team is expanding due to significant growth at a major paper manufacturing site in central Maine, and we are helping them add a hands-on Technical Service Representative to support day-to-day operations.

This is a field-based, on-site role for someone who enjoys being in the plant, solving real problems, and building long-term relationships with operations teams.

🌱 What This Role Is Really About

This position supports one primary manufacturing site and works closely with plant operations, maintenance, and engineering teams. You’ll be involved in:

  • Providing technical service and support for specialty chemical applications
  • Supporting pulp & paper, fleet wash, surface treatment, and industrial processes
  • Helping customers optimize performance and reduce total operating costs
  • Being a consistent on-site presence — proactive, not reactive

Some days are routine. Others may involve maintenance outages, test runs, or extended hours during critical work. If you like variety and learning, this role delivers.

🧰 Key Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on technical service at an industrial manufacturing facility
  • Support chemical application, testing, and process optimization
  • Assist with equipment setup, basic troubleshooting, and inspections
  • Document findings, test results, and recommendations
  • Work safely in a unionized manufacturing environment with clear boundaries
  • Collaborate with internal technical, sales, and support teams
  • Participate in training, learning programs, and continuous improvement
👤 What They’re Looking For

This role can be a great fit for someone early to mid-career who is mechanically inclined, curious, and dependable.

  • 2+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing, chemicals, utilities, food, water, or pulp & paper
  • Strong mechanical aptitude (pumps, piping, systems, testing)
  • Comfortable working independently on-site
  • Understanding of LOTO and plant safety practices
  • Willingness to work occasional extended or off-shift hours during maintenance
  • Good communication and documentation skills
  • Desire to learn and grow — extensive training is provided

Candidates with paper mill exposure are preferred, but strong industrial backgrounds are also considered.

🚚 What’s In It for You

Without getting overly specific, this role offers:

  • Competitive base salary with annual review increases
  • Company-provided pickup truck with fuel card
  • Comprehensive benefits and retirement plan
  • Expense reimbursement (tools, tolls, travel-related costs)
  • Strong training and development support
  • Long-term growth potential — or the ability to stay in a role you enjoy

This is a new position tied to facility expansion and long-term investment — not backfill.

📍 Location & Travel
  • Based in central Maine
  • Primarily supports one large manufacturing site
  • Limited overnight travel (approximately 25%)
đź’¬ Why This Role Is Unique

This position works closely with a senior technical leader on-site — think Batman & Robin — supporting a billion-dollar operation with significant growth ahead. It’s a great opportunity to learn a complex process, gain credibility, and build a long-term career in industrial technical service.
