Position SummaryThe Marketing and Advancement position is responsible for promoting Mount Merici Academy and ensuring its growth in enrollment. This position serves as a member of the Administrative Team and works in unison with other Administrative Team members, committees and families to achieve MMA’s strategic and operational goals. This person is responsible for developing and implementing communication and marketing plans with the support of the Marketing and fundraising Committee.
In conjunction with the Advancement Committee, community members and Administrative Team, this person develops and implements effective advancement (fundraising and philanthropic) processes that enable MMA to achieve its financial and community engagement goals. This person manages the donor database and ensures compliance with MMA policies and procedures as they relate to advancement and fundraising.
- Is a servant leader. Works to support all areas of MMA and its services. Represents MMA in the community in a positive and enthusiastic way and supports the attainment of the MMA mission.
- Achieves MMA strategic and operational goals. Supports MMA services, programs and events through the development of effective communication and marketing strategies, plans and processes.
- Cultivates and maintains effective relationships with MMA staff, families and community members.
- Develops and implements communication plans. Uses creative and innovative methods/processes to promote MMA internally and externally. Maintains the MMA website and brand recognition elements. Coordinates the MMA newsletter and other types of communications venues.
- Serves as a representative of MMA in the community promoting the work of MMA and the need for community support with volunteers and financial donations. Works with the Head of School, Board and Advancement Committee to achieve MMA’s philanthropic goals.
- Maintains and builds the Advancement database. Ensures the appropriate handling of donations and financial contributions. Ensures highly effective donor relations.
- Coordinates the work of MMA volunteers. Ensures a high level of volunteer satisfaction.
- Serves as the administrative support person for the Advancement and Marketing committee. Coordinates and schedules meetings, develops agendas and takes minutes at committee meetings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Previous experience in marketing, communications, or related fields is desirable. School experience is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in social media platforms, basic graphic design skills, familiarity with marketing tools and analytics is a plus.
- Creative, detail-oriented and able to work independently and collaboratively. The ability to engage with the community is essential.
- Comfortable with asking for donations and financial support.
- Primarily office setting.
- Local travel to community events.
