Job Summary
Maine General Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Thayer Internal Medicine office. This role is vital in providing comprehensive patient care, chronic disease management, and clinical support in a fast‑paced outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will have strong assessment, triage, and patient education skills to enhance patient outcomes and care coordination.

Registered Nurse (RN) – Thayer Internal Medicine.
Location:
Thayer Center for Health, Waterville.
Schedule:
Full‑time (40 hours) Day shift (8am – 4:30pm). No weekends. Job Exempt:
No benefits.
- Provide direct patient care and administrative assistance in a physician practice/medical office setting.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on assessment to optimize outcomes and resources.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Evaluate learning needs of patient/family and provide education appropriate to age, culture, and condition.
- Take calls from patients/caregivers requesting assistance and provide advice, referrals, and education.
- Determine need/type of care for symptomatic patients and advise callers accordingly.
- Perform administrative duties to coordinate patient care: data collection, phone answering, scheduling tests/procedures, calling in prescriptions, determining insurance coverage, billing, and receiving payments.
- Active Maine RN licensure or ability to obtain same promptly.
- Preferred: 1year of RN experience; previous practice experience helpful.
- Strong assessment skills, especially over the phone.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Proven and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
- Ability to react calmly, objectively, and effectively in emergencies.
