Nursery Practitioner

Location: Aldenham

To provide high-quality care and education to children aged [insert age range], supporting their learning, development, and wellbeing in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Key Responsibilities

* Provide a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children

* Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities in line with EYFS

* Observe, assess, and record children’s progress and development

* Support children’s personal, social, emotional, and physical development

* Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues

* Ensure safeguarding, health, and safety procedures are followed at all times

* Promote inclusion and equality, supporting children with additional needs

* Maintain accurate records and contribute to learning journals

* Support daily routines such as meals, hygiene, and rest times

* Work effectively as part of a team and attend staff meetings and training
Requirements

* Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (or equivalent)

* Good understanding of the EYFS framework

* Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures

* Excellent communication and teamwork skills

* Patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach to childcare

* Ability to engage children in fun and educational activities
Desirable

* Paediatric First Aid certificate

* Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting

* Experience with SEN support
