We are seeking a Staff Structural Engineer to join our team in Watkinsville, GA. This role offers a unique opportunity to work hands‑on with existing structures, contribute to design projects, and gain leadership experience in a collaborative, client‑focused environment. The Staff Engineer will perform structural assessments, develop design solutions, produce technical reports, assist with proposals, and support client management. Continuing education and professional growth are strongly encouraged and supported.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and assist in the design and analysis of structural systems for various projects
- Perform calculations and simulations to ensure structural integrity, safety, and compliance
- Prepare detailed technical reports, drawings, and specifications under guidance from senior engineers
- Conduct site visits for data collection, condition assessments, inspections, and testing during construction
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve design challenges
- Utilize engineering software including AutoCAD, Enercalc, Sky Civ, Tekla Tedds, Excel, and others
- Participate in project meetings and maintain clear documentation and communication
- Stay up‑to‑date with industry codes, standards, and best practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s a plus).
- Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred (PE not required).
- Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and engineering standards.
- Proficiency in structural analysis, design, and technical writing.
- Experience with CAD and structural engineering software.
- Strong communication skills, willingness to learn, and ability to work on‑site.
- Knowledge of engineering software tools, technical standards, and regulations relevant to the industry.
- Experience in team collaboration, client communication, and providing technical mentorship.
