Special Education Teacher

As a vital member of the school's educational team, a Special Education Teacher will play a crucial role in providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. A Special Education teacher's primary responsibility will be to create inclusive and engaging learning environments, develop individualized education plans, and implement effective teaching strategies to help students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

Completed Edjoin Application Valid California Single Subject PE Credential CLAD, ELD or Equivalent Current Resume Three Letters of Reference (Must be within last two years including one from a supervisor) Must Hold the Adapted Physical Education Specialist Credential. The Credential authorizes the holder to provide instruction and services to individuals with exceptional needs who are precluded from participation in the activities of the general physical education program or a specially designed physical education program in a special class.

Education:

The district will pay a $7,000 signing bonus to any new hire who fills a vacancy in Special Education in the 2026/27 academic year.
* This supersedes and replaces the current $2,500 signing bonus.
* One-half of the stipend will be paid at the end of the lst semester or equivalent days the employee is employed by PVUSD.
* The second half of the stipend will be paid at the beginning of the second year if the teacher is employed with PVUSD.
* The stipend will be pro-rated for late hires and by FTE.
* Teachers hired on a STSP, PIP, or Waiver will be paid the full amount of the signing bonus at the beginning of their Internship year.
* If a teacher earns their intern credential mid-year, the full stipend amount will be paid at the beginning of the subsequent year.
