Position: School Psychologist [83505]

Onward Search Education is partnering with a school district in Lake County, Illinois to hire a School Psychologist for the 2026–2027 school year. This is an on-site role supporting a PreK Psych need. The School Psychologist will help bridge mental health and education by conducting evaluations, supporting IEP/504 processes, and partnering with families and school teams to ensure students receive the services and interventions they need to thrive.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct psycho educational assessments and evaluations to determine student strengths/needs and eligibility for services.
  • Interpret assessment results and develop clear, actionable recommendations for supports and interventions.
  • Participate in and support IEP and 504 processes, including documentation and team collaboration.
  • Provide consultation to educators and school teams on behavior supports, classroom strategies, and interventions.
  • Support student social-emotional needs through counseling, problem-solving, and/or targeted interventions as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with families, staff, and multidisciplinary teams to promote equitable access to services and student success.
Qualifications
  • Active Illinois School Psychologist license (required).
  • Master’s, Specialist (Ed.S.), or Doctoral degree in School Psychology (or equivalent).
  • Experience working in school settings (PreK experience strongly preferred).
  • Strong skills in standardized assessment, report writing, and eligibility determination.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school teams.
